The Sound Studies Group is an international academic team dedicated to sound studies across disciplines, regions, and institutions. From theory to practice, it explores all things related to sound. It also operates a Sound Lab in the School of Design, SUSTech Shenzhen.

Zixuan Peng




Peng Zixuan is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Sound, Beijing Film Academy, specializing in sound creation and theory. She earned her Master’s degree in Film Sound Creation from Beijing Film Academy, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sound Director as well as a second degree in Radio and TV editing from the Communication University of China. 
She has worked on game audio and contributed to the Foley production of films such as Hidden Man and Better Days. As the sound supervisor for the short film Frontier, she was involved in its nomination for Best Short Film at the 59th Golden Horse Awards.
Currently, her research interests lie in sound studies, the history and theory of film and television sound creation, and spatial audio.
