The Sound Studies Group is an international academic team dedicated to sound studies across disciplines, regions, and institutions. From theory to practice, it explores all things related to sound. It also operates a Sound Lab in the School of Design, SUSTech Shenzhen.

Zhichun (Orey) Xia





Orey is an experimental artist and technologist, who graduated from a liberal arts college in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Orey has been involved in projects associated with the Eco-centric Future Lab led by Jiabao Li. With a diverse background spanning avant-garde film, architecture, kinetic art, and creative coding, Orey has consistently pushed the boundaries of contemporary art. Presently, Orey is transitioning towards a more research-based approach to design, with interest in computational design and interaction design.
