The Sound Studies Group is an international academic team dedicated to sound studies
across disciplines, regions, and institutions. From theory to practice, it explores all things related to sound. It also operates a Sound Lab in the School of Design, SUSTech Shenzhen.

Yong Zhao is a digital media designer currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). His work sits at the intersection of interactive media, sound, and biometric data visualization, with projects showcased at ISEA, DIS, and Chinese CHI, and also exhibited at Biennale di Venezia, Triennale Milano, Art Shenzhen, and so forth.
Outside of design and research, he is also a music enthusiast with experience in piano and violin, combining artistic practice with technical exploration to create engaging interactive experiences.
