This project explores a soma-informed musical interface that enables people with speech disorders to express emotions through embodied interaction, translating fingerprints and body movement into sound using Nintendo’s Ring-Con and Joy-Con.
Moodlog — for PrintWave, Nintendo Ring-Con and Joy-Con
When words fall short, the body speaks. This piece, composed for PintWave,Nintendo Ring-Con and Joy-Con, presents an interactive music system designed for individuals with speech disorders. By integrating the Nintendo Switch with the Ring-Con, the system reads fingerprint data to generate personalized timbres for each user, creating a bridge between movement and perception. In this performance, the dancer communicates through physical expression, engaging in a dialogue with sound that traces the emotional landscape of rehabilitation. The audiovisual interaction captures the dynamic relationship between motion and sound, revealing a heartfelt connection between human and technology through the resonance of body, image, and audio.
