This is the Sound Studies Group, a loose and idependent group of likeminded sharing an interest for researching various aspects of the world through the lens of sound. The group is led by Dr. Qiushi Xu and Dr. Marcel Zaes Sagesser.
Qiushi Xu is assistant professor at the SUSTech School of Design in Shenzhen, and Marcel Zaes Sagesser is professor in Media Creation and Academic Director of the BA Creative Media Production at the USTP University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten, Austria.
Our research focuses on sound in relationship with technology, the environment, and human listening. It includes sound technology, sound studies, philosophy of science and technology, humanities research, sound design, spatial audio, interactive audio, and creative media. The output of this team is published in prestigious international journals and proceedings, at international conferences, and in exhibitions and concert halls.
