The Sound Studies Group is an international academic team dedicated to sound studies across disciplines, regions, and institutions. From theory to practice, it explores all things related to sound. It also operates a Sound Lab in the School of Design, SUSTech Shenzhen.

Bocheng Zhong





Bocheng Zhong, a master's student at the SUSTech School of Design, specializes in “Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics.” Bocheng joined Marcel Zaes Sagesser's team at SUSTech, where he is researching sound interaction design and sound perception in contact with materials in VR. At the same time, Bocheng is working on a project about Shenzhen music, which involves sound interaction and VR. Bocheng earned his B.Eng degree in Mechatronic Engineering from the School of Mechanical Engineering, Guangxi University, China, in 2023. Bocheng is passionate about Sound interaction design, sound culture, and the impact of sound in VR/AR.
